Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 2026. This policy explains how StructureCalcs uses cookies and similar technologies.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better user experience, and supply information to website owners. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and tracking pixels.
2. How We Use Cookies
StructureCalcs uses the following categories of cookies and similar technologies:
Strictly Necessary Cookies
StructureCalcs does not use any strictly necessary cookies. The site functions without any cookies being set by us directly.
Functional (Local Storage)
While not technically cookies, we use your browser’s local storage to save your preferences. These are disclosed here for full transparency:
- sc-dark-mode — Stores your dark/light mode preference
- sc-unit-system — Stores your preferred unit system (SI or Imperial)
- sc-cookie-consent — Stores your cookie consent preference
These are essential for site functionality and do not require consent.
Analytics Cookies
We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the Site. These cookies collect anonymous, aggregated data.
Advertising Cookies
None. This site shows no advertisements, works with no advertising partners, and sets no advertising cookies. Google Analytics runs with Google Signals and ad personalisation signals turned off, so it is not used to build advertising audiences either.
The Developer API
Our API sets no cookies at all — it authenticates with an Authorization header, so there is nothing to store in your browser. It does process your IP address to apply rate limits; that is described in our Privacy Policy, not here, because it is not a cookie. Browsing this website does not call the API. Privacy Policy

Note: Google may set additional cookies not listed above. For a complete and current list, see Google’s cookie policy.
4. Managing Cookies
You can control and manage cookies in several ways:
- Cookie consent banner: Use the cookie consent banner on StructureCalcs to accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can reset your choice by clearing your browser’s local storage for this site.
- Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings. See your browser’s help documentation for instructions.
- Google Analytics Opt-out: Download the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
5. Impact of Disabling Cookies
If you choose to reject non-essential cookies or disable cookies in your browser:
- The site will continue to function normally — all calculators will work as expected
- We will not be able to collect anonymous analytics data to improve the site
- Your local storage preferences (dark mode, units) will still work, as these are not cookies
6. Google's Consent Mode
StructureCalcs respects your cookie consent choice through Google’s Consent Mode. When you interact with our cookie consent banner:
- Accept all: the Google Analytics cookie is enabled, so we can see which pages and tools are used. That is the only consent we ask for — there are no advertising signals to grant
- Reject non-essential: Google Analytics operates in a restricted, cookieless mode where supported, and no analytics cookie is stored
Either way the calculators work identically: every calculation runs in your browser and none of it is sent anywhere.
